{"id":7918959,"date":"2021-12-18T00:45:11","date_gmt":"2021-12-18T05:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/HiMY.ca\/2021\/12\/18\/daytona\/"},"modified":"2021-12-18T07:55:58","modified_gmt":"2021-12-18T12:55:58","slug":"daytona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/himy.ca.muslimwiki.ca\/blog\/2021\/12\/18\/daytona\/","title":{"rendered":"Daytona"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I remember Dave Winer writing on his <a href=\"http:\/\/Scripting.com\">blog<\/a> something to the effect that he was using Twitter as his notebook and that that was a &#8220;Mistake&#8221;,<\/p>\n<p>Because he should be using his own blog to do that, and to not default to Twitter, a silo.<\/p>\n<p>So I searched his site using DuckDuckGo, and the results were useless, all <b>out of context<\/b>, which is exactly what <a href=\"http:\/\/oldschool.scripting.com\/KenSmith\/2021\/12\/17\/144654.html?title=searchTermRichlyWrappedInItsContext\">Ken Smith so eloquently described earlier today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ah right, I should be using Dave Winer&#8217;s <i>own<\/i> Search Engine tool, <a href=\"http:\/\/daytona.scripting.com\/\">Daytona<\/a>, rather than an external one, to find it :<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/daytona.scripting.com\/?q=mistake&#038;collection=scriptingnews<\/p>\n<p>Didn&#8217;t find what I was looking for.<\/p>\n<p>However the search results between ContextLess DuckDuckGo and the Abundance of Richness in Context was night and <b>day<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps that&#8217;s why it&#8217;s called <a href=\"http:\/\/daytona.scripting.com\/\"><b>Day<\/b>tona<\/a> ?<\/p>\n<p>Didn&#8217;t find what I was originally looking for, I believe it&#8217;s because Daytona cannot presently search back more than a fixed number of recent years of the Scripting News archives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I remember Dave Winer writing on his blog something to the effect that he was using Twitter as his notebook and that that was a &#8220;Mistake&#8221;, Because he should be using his own blog to do that, and to not default to Twitter, a silo.
